I need a FREE screen capture tool to create tutorials at my new job and settled on Wink.  The Wink site states:

“Wink is a Tutorial and Presentation creation software, primarily aimed at creating tutorials on how to use software (like a tutor for MS-Word/Excel etc). Using Wink you can capture screenshots, add explanations boxes, buttons, titles etc and generate a highly effective tutorial for your users.”

My initial use of the program proved favorable. Wink is easy to use and even generates Flash  tutorials for easy, simple sharing.

I’ve used Wink before. It’s a fine screen recorder, but I can never figure out how to make the captures less than 600 megabytes.

In your project settings try changing the frame rate. As with any screen capture tool (ie. SnapzPro for a Mac, etc.) you will want to keep your “tutorials” short and to the point. In Wink you can also delete frames to shorten your presentation/tutorial (and decrease the file size); then, render as Flash.
