Midwest Sky Show

Posted: March 3, 2007 in Current Event, Education, Technology, That's interesting!

VedauwooMy family and I are on a jaunt to the Midwest. From Laramie to Cheyenne we sped past the rocks of Vedauwoo and then had a great sunset in the rear view mirror while we journeyed into Nebraska. The best part of it all was being able to watch the lunar eclipse pass before our eyes. No picture or piece of technology can capture what we saw today and this evening. That’s okay!

Lunar EclipseThe snowbirds, literally, are flying in to this area of Nebraska too. I have passed through here a few times in the past, and it is a sight to behold. Sandhill cranes, snow and Canada geese fill the sky, dot the ponds, and roam the cornfields. I look forward to the next couple of days roaming around this part of the country. Spring is approaching the Midwest, but the blizzards remind us “Old Man Winter” is not ready to give it all up quite yet! 😉
